Choosing wool by hand
20 January 2025
When choosing wool, I always start with touch. The hand of a yarn tells you more than any label. I look for bounce, a slight halo, and that particular warmth that only natural, minimally processed fleece has.
I source primarily from small flocks in the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders. Each producer has their own flock, their own land, and the wool carries the character of both.
